The Immigrant Archive Project Proudly Partners with DishLATINO
With Hispanic Heritage Month in full swing, the Immigrant Archive Project and DishLATINO are teaming up to digitally showcase the stories of Latino immigrants who left their home countries to build a new life in the United States.
In the video series, Latino immigrants, from popstar Luis Fonsi to everday heroes making a difference in their communities, speak to themes such as the importance of education, recalling their first days in the United States and the impact others have made on their journeys. The videos are available on the Sigue Haciendola Website as well the Immigrant Archive Project’s page. They will also air as advertising spots on DishLATINO.
“We are thrilled to partner with DishLATINO during Hispanic Heritage Month in honoring the inspirational stories of Latino immigrants in America,” said Tony Hernandez, Cofounder and producer of the Immigrant Archive Project. “This ambitious, multiplatform initiative will ensure that Immigrant Archive Project stories are seen and heard from coast to coast, helping us all to truly appreciate the remarkable accomplishments of our Latino immigrant community.”
DishLATINO echoed Hernandez’ feelings toward the partnership.
“Our partnership with the Immigrant Archive Project is a natural fit given our shared goal of celebrating those who are striving to succeed in the U.S. – or as our campaign says, ‘Sigue Haciendola,” said Alfredo Rodriguez, vice president of DishLATINO. “During Hispanic Heritage Month, we are proud to tell these stories, and we hope to send a powerful message of hope, optimism and pride that encourages others to keep pressing on.”
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the partnership between DishLATINO and the Immigrant Archive Project gives Latinos a way to connect with the stories of other Latinos who are making it just like them. The Immigrant Archive Project and DishLATINO are calling upon all Latinos to share their backgrounds and accomplishments by applying to be featured on the Immigrant Archive Project and sharing where they are from on an interactive map as part of Sigue Haciendola.
